Business Leadership Program & Internship Career Fair
This summer, Stanford Student Enterprises will be putting on its annual Business Leadership Program. This intensive five-day conference focuses on refining the skills and increasing the exposure of 50 outstanding Stanford students chosen for their strong commitment to business and their demonstrated intellectual prowess. The program affords corporate sponsors the opportunity to meet with these leading business-minded students in a uniquely intimate setting.

The Business Leadership Program (BLP)2005

Stanford University is very unique in that it does not offer any type of pre-Business major. This means that students interested in business must be highly proactive, reaching outside of classes to learn about and experience the business world. BLP began two years ago to provide a concentrated, focused, and guided opportunity for continued education. This year’s program, running from September 19th through September 23th, includes case study workshops, lectures delivered by Stanford professors at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and opportunities to have one-on-one sessions with representatives of the most prominent firms in the Bay Area and around the country.

The Participants

The mission of the Business Leadership Program is to equip the professionals of tomorrow with skills and knowledge that are not easily attainable in an undergraduate curriculum. After a highly selective application process, 50 students will be chosen to participate in the program. These students, with a variety of academic concentrations and widely variable areas of achievement, have chosen to return to campus for BLP prior to the commencement of this academic year. Each is either a senior or a co-terminal student who will receive a Bachelors or Masters degree in June of 2006.

The Benefits to Your Company

The Business Leadership Program gives sponsors access to these outstanding candidates—many of whom have business work experience and are considering an MBA—well in advance of the fall recruiting schedule. Sponsors are encouraged to provide corporate information packets and other recruiting literature, which will be distributed to each student prior to the start of the program. Sponsors will also be recognized throughout program with literature commensurate to the level of sponsorship. Our program features a recruitment fair giving your company representatives a chance to formally meet with interested students, while informal “mixers” and large dinners allow students and representatives to learn more about each other. Your company’s participation in the BLP would enhance not only the students’ learning experience, but also provide your company with an early opportunity to recruit some of Stanford University’s most gifted scholars.

The Business Leadership Program could not exist without the generosity of our sponsors. Please feel free to contact us at blp@sse.stanford.edu, or via telephone at (650) 723-3138 to learn more about our sponsorship opportunities. We look forward to having your company as a part of this outstanding program.
